Toro builds walk-behind mowers, riding mowers, and zero-turn machines for homeowners and commercial crews. Toro model numbers are short numeric codes, and the same model number can cover several production runs with different parts — so the serial number matters as much as the model.

Finding your Toro model number

On a Toro walk power mower the model and serial plate is on the housing — top rear, back rear, left side, or right side — or on the underside of the control panel. Write down both numbers: the model number alone is not enough to pick parts.

20334Toro 20334 — 22 in. Personal Pace Electric Start Mower
A 22 in. rear-wheel-drive walk-behind mower with Toro’s Personal Pace drive and electric start, powered by a Briggs & Stratton EXi of 163 cc. Toro publishes fourteen separate parts listings for this one model number, and the parts are not the same across them — the engine maintenance kit changes between the 315- and 316-series ranges, and the front wheel changes again between the 316- and 400-series ranges. Your serial number decides both.

A 22 in. front-wheel-drive walk-behind mower with Toro’s SMARTSTOW fold-and-store handle and a variable speed self-propel system, powered by a Briggs & Stratton EXi of 163 cc. It shares its engine size and cutting width with the 20334 but drives the other end of the machine — which is why the two take different drive belts, a difference no amount of matching the specification will reveal.
