The belt did not change across the three ranges we opened here. The front-wheel-drive 20339, which shares deck width and engine size, takes a different number.

Rear-wheel drive, and Toro’s name for the belt says RWD
Deck width, engine size and deck material are the same on both mowers, so the drive designation in the belt name is what separates the two listings.

Choosing drive belts for this mower
Toro lists 38991, named "22 inch Drive Belt for RWD Toro WPM", for the 20334 in all three of the ranges we opened. It did not change across them. Eleven of the fourteen we have not opened.
What does change the answer is which machine you are actually looking at. The 20339 is also a 22 in. Toro walk-behind, also on a Briggs & Stratton EXi of 163 cc, also with a 14-gauge steel deck — and Toro lists belt 38990 for it. One digit apart. Toro's name for 38991 carries the distinction: RWD, rear-wheel drive. The 20339 drives its front wheels.
The two machines are not identical — Toro's product pages differ on start type, wheel configuration and drive system — but they share the figures a shopper is most likely to compare: 22 in. cutting width, a Briggs & Stratton EXi of 163 cc, a 14-gauge steel deck. Read past those to the part number.
Toro publishes no length or width for either belt on the pages we opened, so there is nothing to measure a candidate against. That leaves the model number doing all the work.
