Toro 21199HD
Mower blades for the Toro 21199HD
Short answer
Atomic blade 20120P below 407000000, hi-lift 20122P at and above it. It changes once and does not come back, which is what separates this machine from the other two TimeMasters.

What decides it
The numbers that matter here
- Your serial range
20120P below 407000000; 20122P at 407000000 and above
The listings either side are consecutive in Toro's selector, so this is the change itself rather than a guess between two distant runs.
- It does not come back
Unlike both other TimeMasters
The 21199 and the 21200 each return to the hi-lift blade after an Atomic stretch. This machine changes once. Reading across from them would put the Atomic blade back on newer serials, where Toro does not list it.
- How many blades
20120P's page states two, re-checked 5 September 2026; 20122P's states none
The deck has two spindles. Between 31 August and 5 September this page said neither product page states a count; re-opened again on 5 September, 20120P's page now carries a bullet stating two, while 20122P's still states none. Order two if your serial calls for 20120P; ask the seller if it calls for 20122P.
- Not a supersession
Neither page carries a Replaces Product line
Toro changed which blade it lists at this serial. It has not said that one number replaces the other, in either direction.
In detail
Choosing mower blades for this mower
Toro lists the 15.4 Inch Atomic Blade, 20120P, for the three oldest runs of the 21199HD, and the 15.4 Inch Hi-Lift Replacement Blade Kit, 20122P, for the two newest. The change is at 407000000, and the two listings either side of it are consecutive in Toro's own selector, so that serial is the edge itself rather than somewhere inside a gap.
**The blade does not come back, and on this family that is the finding.** The 21199 runs hi-lift, then Atomic for four runs, then hi-lift again to the newest listing. The 21200 does the same thing over two runs instead of four. The 21199HD goes Atomic, then hi-lift, and stays there. **Three 30 in. TimeMasters, two of which return to the blade they started with and one of which never does.** If you own one of these and have read about the others, that is the difference to hold on to.
**Toro states no relationship between the two numbers.** Neither product page carries a "Replaces Product" line in either direction, so this is Toro changing which blade it lists and not Toro saying one replaced the other. We are not going to upgrade a listing change into a supersession.
**The two numbers do not publish the same way, and it took three readings to get this right.** A 30 in. TimeMaster deck carries two spindles, so how many blades come in the box matters here more than on most machines. This site recorded from 21 August that the Atomic page stated the kit held two blades; on 31 August an archived capture of that page from 6 September 2025 appeared to show it never had — same title, same designation, same four bullets, same overview, no quantity in any of them. **Re-opened again on 5 September 2026, the Atomic page now carries seven bullets, not four, and the fifth reads "Includes 2 blades which each measure 15.4"".** The hi-lift kit's page still states no count. So if your serial calls for the Atomic blade, order two; if it calls for the hi-lift kit, Toro does not say, and you should ask the seller before assuming one purchase does both spindles. Toro does state quantity elsewhere when it chooses to — the 22 in. blade 59534P says on its own page that it is sold individually.
**A second thing changes at the same serial, and it corroborates the boundary.** The engine oil listed below 407000000 is 117-0066, which Toro marks *OBS* — the only obsolescence marking anywhere in this site's transcriptions. At 407000000 it becomes 138-6053. Two unrelated changes at one serial is what a real catalogue edge looks like.
**This is the rental machine.** Toro titles its parts pages "TimeMaster 30in Lawn Mower (Home Depot Rental)". On a machine that has been rented, the model number on the plate is not enough to pick a blade — read the serial, because the two numbers are different blades and this boundary is permanent.
The mistake we see most
Method
How we established this
All five listings Toro publishes for model 21199HD were opened through the serial-range selector on the listings themselves, and every accessory each names was transcribed, so the blade on each run is read from a complete list rather than sampled. The two listings either side of 407000000 are adjacent in that selector, which is what makes the boundary exact rather than bracketed. Both blade product pages were opened on 31 August 2026 against the Wayback Machine's only capture of 20120P's page, from 6 September 2025, and re-opened again, independently, on 5 September 2026 — the reading that settled the blade count.

15.4 Inch Atomic Blade (Part # 20120P)
The Toro Company · Primary source · Accessed September 5, 2026
Read three times, and the third reading no longer agrees with the second. **21 August 2026:** recorded as giving Toro’s internal name KIT-BLADE, TIMEMASTER, 30IN and as stating that the kit includes two blades each measuring 15.4 in. **31 August 2026, re-opened:** the internal name is still KIT-BLADE, TIMEMASTER, 30IN, and the page carried no statement of quantity and no measurement anywhere in its body — the 15.4 in. appeared only in the product name — across seven bullets read as four. That reading matched the Wayback Machine’s only capture of this page, from 6 September 2025, and the two together were taken as settling the question against the 21 August reading. **5 September 2026, re-opened again, independently, twice:** the page now carries seven feature bullets, not four, and the fifth reads verbatim “Includes 2 blades which each measure 15.4"”. Everything else holds — same title, same internal designation, no redirect, no supersession line. **The page changed between 31 August and 5 September 2026**, most likely by Toro adding bullets rather than by either the archive capture or the 31 August reading missing one: the 31 August reading and the archive agreed on a shorter, four-bullet page, and the current page has three more bullets than either recorded, not merely one overlooked. What Toro publishes as of today states the blade count; the notes and specifications that carried “no quantity” have been corrected to match. See review/2026-09-05-section-l-review.md.

15.4 Inch Hi-Lift Replacement Blade Kit (TimeMaster) (Part # 20122P)
The Toro Company · Primary source · Accessed August 21, 2026
Toro’s product page for the hi-lift kit, served directly at this number with no redirect and carrying no supersession line. It states no quantity, no measurement of any kind and no instruction to verify a serial number. It does carry an overview: a steel replacement blade, described as cutting finer for easier mulching and bagging, and as designed for cut quality and durability. None of that names a machine, a model or a deck size. Recorded because a record on this site attributed a two-blade statement to this page, and the statement is on 20120P’s page instead.

15.4 Inch Atomic Blade (Part # 20120P), archived capture of 6 September 2025
The Toro Company, via the Internet Archive · Primary source · Accessed August 31, 2026
The only capture the Wayback Machine holds of this page, taken eleven months before this site first read it. **As of 31 August 2026 it matched the live page and settled the two-blade question against the 21 August reading.** The captured page carried the same title, the same internal designation KIT-BLADE, TIMEMASTER, 30IN, the same four bullets and the same overview as the page served on 31 August 2026, and like it **stated no quantity and no measurement anywhere in its body**. The only substantive difference between the 2025 capture and the 31 August 2026 page was the price. **That is no longer the state of the live page.** Re-opened on 5 September 2026 (see `src_toro_product_20120p`), the live page now carries seven bullets rather than four, including one stating the kit holds two blades. This archived capture still accurately records what the Wayback Machine holds for 6 September 2025 and what the live page said as recently as 31 August 2026 — it is the live page that has since moved, not this record. Recorded as its own source because a claim about what a page used to say needs a record of the page as it used to be.

22 Inch Recycler Blade (Part # 59534P)
The Toro Company · Primary source · Accessed August 31, 2026
Toro’s own product page for the blade, served at this number with no redirect. Its customer-facing title is 22 Inch Recycler Blade and the overview describes a Recycler straight-edge standard-discharge blade. **Re-read 31 August 2026 after the 20120P discrepancy, and it carries two things the 16 August record did not.** Its internal designation reads TORO ATOMIC BLADE - 22IN, PACKAGED — so Toro names this same number Recycler on the front of the page and Atomic in the designation, with PACKAGED alongside. And a bullet states “This blade is sold individually”, which is a quantity Toro publishes here and does not publish for either TimeMaster blade kit. Still no tip-to-tip length, no centre-hole shape and no thickness; it names no machine and says to verify make and serial number. Requesting /product/59534 serves this same page under “Replaces Product 59534.”
