Choosing handles and controls for this mower
Three Toro Recycler mowers on this site carry three different part numbers with "traction assist" in the name, and Toro says nothing about whether any of them substitutes for another.
The 20334 lists TRACTION ASSIST KIT [PPG2] 108-8120 for its earliest range and Traction Assist Handle 131-4590 for the two later ones. The all-wheel-drive 21472 lists neither. In both ranges we opened it shows 144-6377.
What makes this worth a page is where the numbers differ and where they do not. These three machines have three different drive layouts — the 21472 all four wheels, the 20334 the rear pair, the 20339 the front pair — and Toro lists the same blade for all of them, 59534P. The traction assist number is where they diverge. Whether the drive layout is the reason, Toro does not say, and we are not going to fill that in.
Toro publishes no contents list for 144-6377, so we cannot tell you what is in the box, only that this is the number listed for your machine. If you are replacing one broken piece rather than a whole kit, a dealer can tell you whether the kit is the only way to buy it. We cannot.
